The wait-list for Individual Counselling is closed. However, if a referral is needed, we are more than happy to talk to you. We are also happy to work with you on safety planning.
We will open our waiting lists in the New Year for June 15 for our Winter Groups. Stay tuned for information regarding Winter Group programming.
Please call 416-323-9149 ext. 234 to speak with an intake counselor in regards to more information about what group is most suitable for you.
After speaking with one of our intake counselors you may be directed to individual counselling. We provide two types.
Immediate, brief, solution-focused counselling
If you need to see someone immediately to help you cope right now, whether that is one session or six sessions, we can help.
A counselor will help you work out solutions to your most urgent problems by assisting you with identifying your strengths and focus on solutions in the short term.
If you need to see someone to help you heal and recover from historical or present-day abuse, we are here to help, whether that is for six months or longer.
A counselor will work with you to identify long-term goals and will support you in achieving greater well being.
We have a limited number of spaces for long-term counselling. If we are not able to provide you with long-term support, our intake counselors will work with you to connect you to services in the community.
We can help if you have experienced
- spousal abuse
- violence and threats from other family members/household members or stranger(s)
- forced marriage
- adult sexual assault
- childhood sexual abuse/incest
We can also help you deal with the services that you need, including police, housing, immigration and so on.
We can also arrange for interpretation into other languages. Our interpreters are professionally trained and have specialized knowledge of violence against women issues.
